Insider guide
Shopping Mount Dora.
The story
Mount Dora is a small town about 45 minutes north of Orlando, and its historic downtown is built for a day trip. The shopping runs on N Donnelly St from about 3rd Ave to 5th Ave, plus E 4th Ave, E and W 3rd Ave, and the antiques dealers on N Highland St. Renninger's, the weekend antiques and flea market, sits separately on US Hwy 441 outside downtown.
Downtown packs boutiques, jewelers, gift shops and an artist co-op into a few blocks. E 4th Ave holds the boutiques and the co-op, Donnelly St has the jeweler, shoe store and spice shop, and Highland St has the antique mall. It suits a slow day of browsing, with Renninger's added on a weekend.
What to Expect
On E 4th Ave, Ivy Boutique (107) has trend-driven tops and special-occasion dresses, Panache by Vintage Rose Atelier (109) sells decor, clothing and jewelry by women makers from around the world, and Jewelry by TFC (117) has stackable handmade pieces by owner Lori Brenneman. Artisans of Mt. Dora (139) is a co-op showing work by about 30 Central Florida artists, and the Modernism Museum Shoppe (144) sells handcrafted jewelry, home decor and children's gifts.
On N Donnelly St, Lulu's Gifts (334, #19) sells jewelry and candles in an arcade, Becker's Best Shoes (404) has comfort footwear for a walking day, Gold In Art Jewelers (420) does diamonds and custom design, and The Spice & Tea Exchange (431) has spices, loose-leaf teas and gift sets. The Peppered Donkey (108 3rd Ave) is the men's shop, with hats, leather goods and grooming products. Village Antique Mall is the downtown option for antiques when Renninger's is closed midweek. Renninger's itself has an Antique Center, a Flea and Farmer's Market and a Consignment Center.
Best Time to Visit
Downtown shops mostly open around 10am or 11am and close at 5 or 6pm. Fridays and Saturdays are the late nights: the Modernism Museum Shoppe stays open to 9pm, The Spice & Tea Exchange to 8pm, and Jewelry by TFC to 8pm Friday and 7pm Saturday. Mondays are thin, since Gold In Art Jewelers is open Tuesday to Saturday only and Lulu's Gifts and The Peppered Donkey are closed Monday. A weekend trip lets you add Renninger's, open Saturday and Sunday 9am to 4pm. Its Antiques & Collectors Extravaganza, listed for November 20 and running Friday through Sunday, draws more than 800 vendors.
If You Only Have an Hour
Start at Artisans of Mt. Dora and the Modernism Museum Shoppe, then Jewelry by TFC. Turn onto N Donnelly St for Gold In Art Jewelers (420) and finish at The Spice & Tea Exchange (431).
Where to Eat
1921 Mount Dora, new for 2026, is in a converted 1921 house with a coastal-inspired interior and an often-changing menu of local ingredients: house-made rolls, fried green tomatoes and confit chicken thighs.
