Animal Kingdom has fewer shops than the other parks, with general Disney merchandise on Discovery Island and land-specific shops in Africa and Pandora.

Disney's shop directory lists 14 shops and carts in Animal Kingdom, fewer than any other Walt Disney World park. The general stores are on Discovery Island, in the middle of the park: Discovery Trading Company, one of the park's larger shops, and Island Mercantile, which carries apparel, accessories and headwear.

Elsewhere, the shops follow their lands. In Africa, Mombasa Marketplace sells African imports such as art, clothing, crafts and musical instruments, Mariya's Souvenirs near the Harambe Theatre is a one-stop souvenir shop, and Zuri's Sweets Shop sells candy and treats. In Pandora – The World of Avatar, Windtraders carries merchandise built around that land's plants, animals and culture.

This holiday season, Island Mercantile sells original Disney-themed artwork by artist Rob Kaz, who is meeting guests there in November.

Discovery Trading Company on Discovery Island works as a one-stop shop for Disney merchandise and vacation necessities.

From November 13, 2026 through January 6, 2027, Island Mercantile sells original Disney-themed artwork by Rob Kaz. The artist greets guests there November 1 through November 22.

Windtraders is the shop for anything from Pandora – The World of Avatar, so buy those souvenirs there; the general shops on Discovery Island focus on broader Disney merchandise.

Disney no longer sends purchases to the front of the park or to your hotel. Rent a locker near the park entrance, or ask the Cast Member at checkout to mail items home for a small fee.
