The story
Orlando International Premium Outlets is an open-air Simon outlet center at 4951 International Dr, at the north end of I-Drive. It opened in 1990 as Belz Factory Outlet World, was rebuilt in 2007, and now has about 180 stores. Units are numbered by building (1, 2 and 3), which makes the directory easy to follow.
It leans toward popular American brands, with Coach, Tory Burch, Nike and Polo, plus a handful of designer outlets such as St. John, Marc Jacobs and Armani. It suits I-Drive visitors and anyone after handbags, menswear and kitchen gifts at outlet prices.
What to Expect
Building 1 has the designer outlets at the front: St. John (1A01) for knit suits, Robert Graham (1A02A) for bold printed shirts and Marc Jacobs (1A09) for totes. It also holds Armani Outlet (1D01), Brooks Brothers Factory Store (1D09), Johnston & Murphy (1D03) and Polo Ralph Lauren (1E01). If You Only Have an Hour
Start with St. John and Marc Jacobs at the front of building 1, then stop at L'Occitane and Lindt (1C01 and 1C03). Cross to building 2 for Coach and Tory Burch, and finish at Le Creuset (2C19).
Down the Road: ICON Park and Pointe Orlando
This stretch of International Dr runs between ICON Park, home of The Wheel, and Pointe Orlando farther south. Both are open-air complexes that now lean heavily toward restaurants, bars and attractions.
At Pointe Orlando, Rocket Fizz (suite 250) sells bulk classic candy, fresh taffy and a wall of unusual bottled sodas, Promenade Fine Art (suite 504) is the gallery, Moondance Trading fills suites 246 and 248, and Cigars to Go (suite 226) sits near the Blue Martini and Kavas lounges. JoJo's Shake Bar (suite 606) is the dessert stop. At ICON Park, Build-A-Bear Workshop lets kids stuff and dress their own bears, and Sugar Factory sells candy alongside big sundaes, milkshakes and chocolate fondue.
